Today is IMD: Who Fucking Cares

Today is International Men’s Day and I don’t really care since every other day of the year is men’s day.

Women are not safe from men in their homes. We are beaten and raped by men we know and love. We are controlled by the ‘head of the household.’

Women are not safe from men in public. We are catcalled, stalked, and harassed when we try to go about our day.

Women aren’t safe from men.

If you’re an enlightened man then you should have no problem with me not celebrating this day. If you’re a male supremacist then of course you think I should bow down and defer to you.

Such is the sickness that is Patriarchy.

In a WaPo article on IMD, a mansplainer posted this comment to a woman:

Lisa, I see you are harping on the few bad men and ignoring all the good men and all the good they do and have done.

Like build the house you’re living in, farming your food, building your car and computer. In the past men, because they loved the women in their lives so much, developed safe childbirth medicine that saved women’s lives.

The least you could do is say thank you to our husbands, fathers, brothers and sons.

I don’t think so. Fuck you.

PS To top it all off I went out for TEN measly minutes at 7:30pm in the middle of Vancouver. On the way home an older man eyed me, then walked right into my space while I was waiting for the pedestrian light to change and said ‘I’m standing right next to you! Yeah, I’m Freddy Kruger and I’m standing right next to you! Come have a drink with me at (closest bar).’

Fuck you, idiot men.

  1. Who are we supposed to thank?

AVFM is busily co-opting this marketing opportunity.

    http://www.reddit.com/r/againstmensrights/comments/2mt18c/remember_when_avfm_set_up_a_site_coopting_the/

The original site gives its profits to this group:

“The site was put online by a group called the Dads4Kids Fatherhood Foundation, working with the founder of International Men’s Day, Dr Jerome Teelucksingh. The Dads4Kids Fatherhood Foundation, as I discovered with a bit of Googling, turns out to be a virulently homophobic and transphobic organization that is also behind a site called Gendermatters.com.” quoted from: http://wehuntedthemammoth.com/2013/11/19/today-is-world-toilet-day/

The point is, there is no real men’s thank you day except Father’s Day that i know of. I have no problem thanking men on an individual basis. But as a group? Very problematic.

  2. Some fun tonight. Razorbladekandy (Thunderfoot) has put Judgybitch on trial and his first vid made it clear Judgy’s guilty at least as far as MGTOWs are concerned. He says his second vid is coming up, during which I guess he’ll render the MGTOW verdict.

What is left when MGTOWs leave A Voice for Men? What are MRAs?

We’re back to trad cons at this point. If there is some third theory among MRAs besides MGTOWs and Tradcons (KKK–KInder Kirche und Kueche) then what?

What’s the model? I’ve always wondered–what exactly is this lovely MRA society going to consist of?

New society looks an awful lot like Leave it to Beaver.

  3. Because I can read your mind and know every detail of your past, How else could I make such ludicrous statements? OK I admit it, I don’t know anything about you but men are free to superimpose their own narratives and fantasies on women’s lived experiences whenever we please.

Thanks for having me. I can’t help it, I can’t face what men do to women.

    Tony

  4. I’ve never heard of Men’s Day before. But, I say why stop there? Let’s have White History Month. And, how about national Slavery Remembrance Day – thank the men who fed, clothed and employed your ancestors. Also, how about declaring Sunday Wife-beaters’ Day a weekly day of thanks so we women can remember that this was the one day of the week our husbands weren’t allowed to beat us up. (Hey! At least, there was ONE day!) How about an International Thank Your Rapists Day! And we definitely need an International Colonialists Day!

Oh, and that comment you quoted:

“,,,harping on the few bad men and ignoring all the good men and all the good they do and have done.” What, what, what?!!!

“Like build the house you’re living in, farming your food, building your car and computer.” And, of course, it is men who are excluding women from being able to do these things by means of their campaign of harassment, stalking and violence.

“In the past men, because they loved the women in their lives so much, developed safe childbirth medicine that saved women’s lives.” And, here is the salt in the open wound – men help women with childbirth medicine. Men’s medicine is mutilating and killing women and children (Didja ever wonder what happened to Frank Sinatra’s face or Stallone’s voice – it was damage done by d#ck-danglers, torturously PULLING a newborn out of the birth canal before it was time… doc’s gotta tee off in half-an-hour, you know!) and here in the U.S. you’re lucky if you can get care from a patriarchal hospital at all – you run the risk of your pregnancy being criminalized by men or terminated against your will (as well as your own life) by means of violence from men, in general – could be some random men, could be your boyfriend or husband – but, they are the #1 danger to pregnant women!

“The least you could do is say thank you to our husbands, fathers, brothers and sons.” This is just so, sick!

    • Oops! I almost forgot: International Hetero Day! The slogan will be, “Thank a hetero you know,” (..it rhymes if you say it just right…) and we’ll celebrate all that heterosexuals have done to improve our quality of life.

    • Also:

International Fapper’s Day – thank those guys who drive up next to you and swerve around on the highway at 65 M.P.H. while they to drive and get it up to the window so you can see it, and those classy guys standing at the pay phone strokin’ it through their dress slacks as you are walking into a nice restaurant, and all those great guys who download porn on the internet and everywhere else – what would we do without their contribution to the economy and to women and girls, in general.

John Appreciation Day – a special day for the forgotten contributions of these wonderful men to the lives of socially and economically disenfranchised girls and women and those who are the victims of human trafficking.

Pornographer Pride Month: Celebrate pornographers and thank them for providing so many wonderful job opportunities to girls and women.

I mean really, ladies, the least we could do is thank our fathers, our brothers, our sons!

      • Oops! Another big error… I hate it because the more I try to correct it in that little window, the worse it turns out.

I’m making reference to highway maturbators. These are the men who drive up right next to your car and then try to pull their things up to the window, while driving at 65 M.P.H. or more, so you can see them jackin’ it. They are extremely dangerous… but, let’s thank them, anyway, for all the wonderful entertainment they provide women traveling alone on interstate highways.

They’re probably somebody’s dad, brother or son – so be sure to keep that in mind!

  5. Did you hear the #shirtstorm a##h#oles complaining: We landed a space probe on a comet millions of miles away from Earth, but feminists are complaining about a dude’s shirt.

What a bunch of idiots! Their brains don’t work right or else they would stop to think that if not for all their abuses of women we probably would have landed a space probe on a comet 100 years ago! Of course, if we had, some dude would have put his name on it and obscured the name of whatever woman actually did the work, as per usual.

    • Hahaha! Apparently the dude was so smart he could land a rover on a comet but not smart enough to know that wearing a porn shirt on national television was a sexist statement. Male privilege anyone? It reminds me of that idiot Impelluso on AVFM telling ladies that math was ‘male’ because they pee standing up.

  6. OT, sorry, but The British journal The Lancet is the world’s most respected medical journal. It’ s good to see that it has a new five-part series on violence against women and strategies to combat it. I haven’t had a chance to read it but would like to suggest that it sounds like a great topic for discussion. One thing I find important about it is the scope – it talks about the issue worldwide. Another is that the figures quoted cannot be dismissed as biased or questionable or out of date. Also, as a model for this kind of research, I will be interested to see whether the perpetrators of this violence are named or whether the passive voice is used consistently.

    Here’s the link: http://www.thelancet.com/series/violence-against-women-and-girls

I’m going to give this some real study.I’m hoping that it sweeps a lot of BS around this issue aside.
